Tom Carey – President

In fall of 2013, company founder Peter Garthwaite passed the torch to Tom Carey, a heating oil industry veteran with over 37 years of experience. Tom has lived in York County for more than 30 years and brought with him not only deep expertise but also a clear vision for growth.

Under Tom’s leadership, Garthwaite Energy has expanded dramatically:

Tom is still a proud York County resident, where he lives with his wife and four children. Known for his hands-on leadership and values-driven management style, Tom ensures that every customer is treated with fairness, decency, and respect.

Jennifer Brooks – Office Manager

Many of our customers know the warm and welcoming voice of Jennifer Brooks, the person most likely to greet you when you call Garthwaite Energy.

Jennifer brings over 14 years of industry experience, a degree in business management with a concentration in accounting from the University of Maine, and a strong understanding of customer needs—from delivery scheduling to service requests. She has a unique ability to manage the day-to-day operations while keeping the office running with warmth and efficiency.

Born and raised in Southern Maine, Jennifer is passionate about community and customer care. Whether it’s a homeowner with no heat or a restaurant that needs emergency A/C service, Jennifer takes pride in being the one to help solve the problem.

In her downtime, she loves being by the ocean, paddleboarding, spending time at the beach, and hanging out with her dog, Riggs.
